Dear Friends, When earthquake victims in Haiti were struggling to survive, you reached out to the Red Cross to give from your hearts. You gave clean water, safe shelter and nourishing food to hundreds of thousands of Haitians. The continued relief effort in Haiti is the largest in the history of the global Red Cross network, and you have made these efforts possible. Closer to home, families struggled through disasters like the flooding in Tennessee and tornadoes that swept through the Southeast. Your generous gifts became the fuel and supplies that lifted affected families out of their suffering and into a place of recovery. The cots, blankets, hot cups of coffee and clean-up kits they received all came from your donated dollars. Locally, you helped hundreds of our neighbors who experienced the terror of home fires this year. When trained volunteers were there on the scene, wrapping children in warm blankets, they often heard the words, "Thank you." Know that everyday, down the street, across the country and around the world, people are thanking you for your gifts. I echo that sentiment a thousand times. Thank you. |
Sincerely, |
Francesca Maher Edwardson | Chief Executive Officer |
