The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago provided assistance to Carol Stream families forced from their homes due to a partial collapse of their building.
Five years after a hurricane season that wreaked havoc on the Gulf Coast, the American Red Cross released “Bringing Help, Bringing Hope,” a report that details the Red Cross response to Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma and the ensuing years of recovery for the survivors. The Greater Chicago Red Cross helped more than 7,700 people who evacuated to our area after the storms.
As flood waters continue to wreak havoc on communities across Pakistan, the American Red Cross is increasing its support to $5 million to help families who have lost their homes and jobs and have little access to clean water and food.
